COVID19 - BSP

As a result of the evolving COVID-19 circumstances, we are adapting the way we provide podiatry for some of our current and new clients. We are still here for you, but for some clients this may be in a different way to before!

The transition for some clients to TeleHealth consultations and screenings is in the best interest of the health of our clients, staff and our community to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. As we have no clear timeline of the impacts of COVID-19, we aim to keep our services easily accessible, to allow you to remain healthy - both physically and mentally.

What is TeleHealth..?

  • TeleHealth is a virtual consultation which is run via video conference or phone.

  • Telehealth is designed as a user friendly system. We send you a link via email to connect your virtual consultation.

  • Please contact BSP clinic if you are unsure and would like further information about how TeleHealth works.

Bayside Sports Podiatry operates as a small, independent clinic. We are grateful to be able to continue to operate at this time, and we truly value the support of our clients during this time. We will still be here for you with our regular services as required, but for now we will be trying to limit face-to-face consultations where possible.

While these options will not quite be the same as a face-to-face consultation, we feel as though we can still provide you with high quality treatment and advice through this platform to help you progress.   TeleHealth is simple. Once you book an appointment, a link will be sent to your email. Simply open the link at the time of your appointment and your friendly clinician will be on the other end with a big smile.

1.     You already have an appointment booked in the upcoming weeks/months at the clinic.

If you are confident that this consultation can be done via Telehealth, we ask that you kindly contact the clinic to advise. If you are unsure, that’s okay! Keep your appointment as is, and either Nicki or Alysha will be in contact with you a few days prior to your appointment.  They will discuss your injury, and decide if a Telehealth appointment will suffice, or if a face-to-face consultation is required.

2.     You require a new appointment (initial or review)

We ask that all initial or review appointments are booked as if you are coming into the clinic (like normal), unless you would specifically like Telehealth, in which case you can book the appointment as a Telehealth appointment. This can be done via our website (www.baysidesportspodiatry.com.au) or telephone (9598 8221).  A few days prior to your appointment, your practitioner will contact you to discuss your pathology, and if it is best for you to come into the clinic, or whether your consultation can be done as Telehealth. If you do not wish to come into clinic, we will endeavor to assist you as best we can via Telehealth.

3.     Orthotic devices

If you require an update of your pre-fabricated or custom orthoses, or a new device, we will aim to assist you with limited contact.  We hope that with most patients that need to update their orthotics, we could do a Telehealth appointment to have a brief review initially.  Depending on your needs, we could then manufacture your new orthotics (we would need your shoe size), or you can drop your current orthotics into the clinic, so we can do any necessary adjustments and then you can collect them or we are happy to drop them to you if you live locally.

If you require a new pair of custom orthotics, then we will organise a face-to-face appointment so we can take a new scan of your feet.

We thank you for your understanding during this time!  Please email either Nicki or Alysha if you have any questions.
